Amethis invests in Energy Transfo

Amethis is pleased to announce that it has acquired a minority stake in Energy Transfo, a major player in the design and manufacture of solutions for the electricity and renewable energy sectors in Morocco.

Founded in 1989 and taken over by the Taariji family in 1994, Energy Transfo is a Moroccan company specializing in the manufacture and sale of transformers, electrical cabinets and compact urban substations, products that are at the heart of electricity distribution.

Energy Transfo’s aim is to convert medium-voltage electricity into low-voltage electricity, connect it to the grid and make it ready for use by households, industryindustry, and public services. The company has diversified over the last five years by creating a solar and electric mobility division, but also, and above all, through the creation of a customer support service that enables it to deepen its relationships with customers.

In over 30 years of existence, Energy Transfo has established itself as a benchmark reference player thanks to the quality of its products, its ability to adapt and its flexible customer relations. A tailor-made sales service has enabled them the company to acquire a leading position in French-speaking sub-Saharan Africa, where it has developed strong links with local and international players.

Through this investment, Amethis aims to support Energy Transfo in strengthening its position in Morocco and pursuing its growth in sub-Saharan Africa. This development has several strategic focuses, namely (i) consolidating its leading position on the Moroccan market by increasing its production capacity, (ii) continuing to penetrate the market in sub-Saharan Africa and (iii) operational and commercial optimization.

Nouzha Taariji (Managing Director of Energy Transfo) said: “We are delighted to welcome Amethis on board to further the development of Energy Transfo in Morocco and sub-Saharan Africa. Amethis’ investment comes at the right time to support us during this growth phase and help us achieve our ambition of becoming a key regional player in the electrification of the continent.”

Wilfried Poyet (Partner at Amethis, in charge of the operation) said: “This is a new achievement for Amethis in Morocco, and we are proud to be associatedpartner with a family business whose activity has a direct impact on the well-being of the population. We are delighted to support Nouzha Taariji, Othman Taariji (CEODeputy CEO) and their family in the development of their strategy”.
