Legal Agreements in African Private Equity

As part of our mission to educate and share best practices, AVCA will hold a training programme on Legal Agreements in African Private Equity on Monday 25 April 2016.

The participants will focus on gaining a better understanding of legal agreements and be guided through the common pitfalls of different contractual terms and the key commercial issues.

Focusing on key legal steps and documentation, the course will look to highlight best practice applied to fundraising, transactions across the continent, case studies, practical exercises and group participation.

Key topics will include:

  • Understanding the legal structure of a typical Private Equity deal
  • Due diligence and legal risk management
  • Fundraising issues
  • Update of fund terms and issues to consider when establishing and managing funds

The course will be conducted by a variety of leading senior lawyers, private equity practitioners and investors who have significant experience executing deals and managing funds on the continent.
