Africa Venture Philanthropy Association (AVPA)
28 July 2017
A strong group of African leaders has come together with an international team to launch a new pan- African network, the Africa Venture Philanthropy Association (AVPA), modelled after European and Asian networks (EVPA and AVPN respectively) which together have a combined membership of over 600 members from 50 countries coming from foundations, PE firms, corporations, family offices, professional service firms, universities and government related organisations. The African network will be launched to serve as catalyst and facilitator to enable providers of financial, human and/or intellectual capital to realise their full potential for social impact. It will be African-based, African-led and substantially African-funded. The headquarters will be in Nairobi, with Lagos and Johannesburg hosting smaller offices. As the AVPA is getting ready for launch it is seeking an ambitious and capable executive to take on the role of CEO and lead its start-up and operations.
