CONTEXT
Verod’s Investment Professional is a member of the firm’s Investment Team. The Investment Professional is ultimately responsible for providing support to senior investment professionals on the team (Partners, VPs, Senior Managers, Associates and Analysts) across the entire transaction lifecycle, from sourcing to exits, through financial modelling/analysis, risk reviews, market research, document preparation, management team and expert engagement, business development, project updates and review of financial and business reports. The Investment Team also works in true collaboratively with the Head of Value Creation building and driving value creation plans and the Head of Investor Relations and Communications on fundraising and LP engagement and the Finance Team on portfolio valuations and reporting.
He or she would be required to have exceptional passion for investment, gravitas and confidence execute detailed analysis with an exceptional attention to detail. He or she must be ambitious, looking to drive Verod forward at every opportunity, showing potential of leadership and expertise in this field.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Investment Team in all team activities involved with looking for potential deals, due-diligence and entry/restructuring/exit of companies within the firm’s portfolio of partner companies through in-market research, analysing company accounts and financial projections, and preparing presentation material
- Monitoring key financial and operational metrics and provide support to partner companies
- Supporting the firm with reporting and engagement with its Fund investors
- Engage in networking to develop your professional network to support fund activity and actively contribute to the culture and capability of the firm
KEY EXPERIENCE
- A strong first degree from a recognised University
- 3-5 years in a role conducting financial and operational analysis and engaging with senior management teams in the Investment banking, Consulting, Venture Capital or PE sector.
- Advanced level modelling and financial analysis skills, including knowledge of operating models, detailed financial projections and various types of valuation and returns analysis
- High proficiency with MS Office Suite especially Excel and Power Point.
- Strong, demonstrable skills in communication, presentations, business-writing and presentation
- Highly resourceful with strong quantitative analysis, research experience and problem-solving skills
- Good time management skills are a must for this role
- Willingness to travel and work on-site at partner companies when required

COMPENSATION
Remuneration package will be highly competitive based on qualification, experience and profile of the candidate.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
1 Transaction Management:
- Support the Investment Team in all team activities involved with looking for potential deals and entry/restructuring/exit of companies within the firm’s portfolio of partner companies
- Conducting desktop and in-market research on various industries and businesses
- Analysing company accounts and financial projections by developing and analysing financial models
- Assist due diligence processes conducted using third party advisors
- Preparing presentation materials for internal and external use for example for interfacing with Investment Committee etc.
2 Value Creation:
- Monitoring key financial and operational metrics of partner companies
- Providing financial and operational support to partner companies
3 LP Engagement:
- Supporting the firm with reporting and engagement with its Fund investors
- Responding to and engaging with current and potential investors to address their concerns and generate additional investment funds or strategic resources for the firm
4 Relationship Building:
- Engage in networking to develop your professional network that will improve various firm activities including, but not limited to, deal sourcing, fundraising, information gathering, market analysis, etc.
5 Firm-building:
- Actively initiating and participating in activities that to build up the company’s capabilities and improve the firm’s culture
