London, UK, Tuesday, 26 May 2016: The African Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (AVCA) today announces that Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Director, Dara Owoyemi has been appointed Special Adviser on Investment to Dr. Okechukwu Enelamah, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Nigeria, and Co-Founder and former Chief Executive Officer, African Capital Alliance. Dara has proceeded on a leave of absence from the organisation to take on this role.
Dara brought several years of investment banking experience in corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions to her role as COO of AVCA and has been instrumental, not only in restructuring the organization, but also in driving and implementing its key strategic goals. She has a MEng in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College, London and joined the AVCA team in October 2011, having previously worked at Lehman Brothers, Nomura and Renaissance Capital, covering clients and executing transactions in the United Kingdom and across the African continent.
