AVCA announces five new appointments to its Board of Directors

Monday, 13^th February 2017, London: The African Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (AVCA) today appointed five prominent industry veterans to join its Board of Directors. The new Board members are key influencers within the African private equity industry, and will deepen AVCA’s reach and impact as it continues to enable private investment in Africa and champion the sector.

 The new Board members are:

• Antoine Delaporte, Founder and Managing Director, Adenia Partners
• Cyril Odu, Chief Executive Officer, African Capital Alliance
• Jerry Parkes, Managing Principal, Injaro Investments Ltd.
• Luc Rigouzzo, Managing Partner and Co-founder, Amethis Finance
• Genevieve Sangudi, Managing Director, The Carlyle Group

Commenting on the appointments, Hurley Doddy, Founding Partner and co-CEO of Emerging Capital Partners and Chair of the AVCA Board, noted: “As the African private equity industry continues to evolve, we are delighted to welcome such reputable leaders in the industry to the AVCA Board of Directors. Antoine, Cyril, Genevieve, Jerry, and Luc have each made seminal contributions to the growth of the industry. The announcement comes as AVCA prepares for its 14^th annual global conference, which returns to francophone Africa for the first time in ten years as part of AVCA’s mission to showcase investment opportunities across the continent.
