SunFunder invests US$4mn into off-grid solar company

SunFunder, which provides debt financing for solar enterprises working in emerging and frontier markets, announced a new US$4mn facility for Yellow, a fast-growing off-grid solar provider in Malawi. The loan will be put towards supporting the company's growing sales of solar home systems.

Afreximbank fund makes first investment 

The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) has announced a minority investment by the Fund for Export Development in Africa (FEDA) into Liquid Intelligent Technologies, a pan-African telecommunications technology group.

 54gene secures US$25mn in series B funding round

The health technology company 54gene which works towards the advancing of African genomics research for improved global health outcomes, has secured $25 million in a series B round, led by Cathay AfricInvest Innovation Fund.
