Abir Attia is the Head of Responsible Investing at AfricInvest. With extensive experience serving in Private Equity of over 11 years, Abir is actively shaping the development of AfricInvest Group’s Responsible Investing strategy. She manages a team of Responsible Investing officers and works alongside the investment and management teams to assess and monitor the ESG and Development Impact performance of portfolio companies as well as implementing best international practices. With a strong finance background and deep knowledge of the African continent, Abir helps to build sustainable businesses and enhance value in Emerging Markets.

Prior to joining the Group in March 2009, Abir was part of the Mergers & Acquisitions team of BNP Paribas Paris where she participated in the execution of several M&A transactions.

Abir is an active member of the Emerging Markets Private Equity Association (EMPEA) ESG Community and co-heads the Governance Committee. She is also a member of the African Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (AVCA) Sustainability Committee.

Abir is a graduate of IHEC Carthage Tunis and holds a Master Grande Ecole (Finance) from ESCP EAP Paris and a Master of Science in Management from City University London. Abir speaks Arabic, French and English.
