Soumendra Dash, Principal Risk Officer at the African Development Bank, is an experienced and seasoned professional in the space of Private Equity (PE) investments. He has played a very significant role in the assessments of various investment proposals and in particular, PE funds in Africa and Asia. He has specialized in fund’s compliance challenges and developing risk mitigating measures for various PE funds.

Soumendra has an outstanding and impeccable record in executing investments of more than US$1.5bn along with various stakeholders during recent past years. In his long career, he has mostly worked on PE funds who have been entrepreneurial and multi-sector focused funds. He is very committed, determined and effective risk manager. He has also advised extensively on investment thesis especially for VC and Fintech Funds in Africa. He was associated with a leading rating agency in India before joining African Development Bank.

He holds degrees in Applied Economics (India) and Risk Management (Germany).
